Mosaic tiles can be as big as 100mm square, but are usually much smaller, about 25mm square. They can be used to great effect as an 'all over' tile, or are placed as decorations within other tiles, either as inserts or borders. They are suitable for fllors, walls, and are sometimes used for worktops and table tops.
Mosaics are made in ceramic, porcelain, glass and metallic glaze. Designs and pictures are created by mixing different colours. These can be as simple as a multi-coloured line for a border or as complex as a Roman floor.
